The Museum of Rural Life in Reading, Berkshire, is marking Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month with a celebration about the remarkable collection relating to Britain’s traditional travelling communities, collected by RTFHS President Robert Dawson.
The event will feature a presentation by award-winning poet Dr Jo Clement, who will read from her acclaimed first collection of poems Outlandish, in which she illuminates a hidden and threatened culture, and another by Dr Neil Cocks from the Department of English Literature of the University of Reading. There will also be the chance to view the Collection and hear about the Museum’s latest work with Gypsy Roma Traveller communities.
The event is free but pre-booking is required. Tickets are available here. The RTFHS is attending with a bookstall.
