The Derbyshire Gypsy Liaison Group is holding an event called “Tales from the Waggon Steps” on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2026, 11am – 4pm, as part of the annual Heritage Open Days festival (HODS) that’s taking place nationwide.
This takes place at Moor End Cottage, Moor End, Beeley, Matlock, Derbyshire DE4 2NR and features an exhibition illustrating the everyday life of Romany Gypsy people in Britain. There’s a Romany waggon that’s being renovated, displays of hawking baskets and paper flower making.
