We are sorry to announce the death of Gordon Boswell, founder of the Gordon Boswell Romany Museum at Spalding in Lincolnshire.
Gordon died on Saturday 27 August 2016 at the age of 76. He had been a keen supporter of the Romany and Traveller Family History Society since its earliest days and was a warm and generous host and entertaining speaker when the RTFHS held its annual conference at the Museum on two occasions, in 1999 and 2004. He will be sadly missed by everyone who shared his passion for the preservation and celebration of the culture, heritage and history of British Romany Gypsies.
We would like to extend our condolences to Gordon’s wife Margaret, his family and many friends.
There is a tribute to Gordon by Margaret in today’s Spalding Guardian (1 September 2016). The RTFHS will be publishing its own tribute in the December 2016 edition of Romany Routes.
