Further to our announcement earlier today about the sad death of Gordon Boswell: if you want to hear more about his family and his Museum in Spalding – said to be the largest public display of Romany history in the world – take a look at Songs of Praise, broadcast on BBC 1 on Sunday 14 August 2016, where Gordon is interviewed.
The programme includes many old family photos of the Boswell family with the people in them described by Gordon, plus information about the evangelist Rodney ‘Gipsy’ Smith and also an interview with Billy Welch, one of the current organisers of Appleby Fair, again with many old film clips and photos of Romany life. The programme is available for replay only for the next 12 days so catch it while you can.
Our thanks to RTFHS member Christine Saunders for alerting us to it.
