In or around Chelmsford next Saturday – 20 October 2018? Why not come along and say ‘hello’ to the RTFHS team at a free Open Day, organised by the Essex Society for Family History. It’s on from 10am until 4pm at the Galleywood Heritage Centre, The Common, Galleywood, Chelmsford, Essex CM2 8TR.
We’ll be selling RTFHS publications and will be pleased to meet you and answer your Romany, Traveller and Fairground family history questions. So please bring along your family information, family trees and photos.
We hear from the organisers that dress historian, portrait specialist, and internationally recognised photo expert, Jayne Shrimpton, will be giving a lecture at 11am on ‘Dating Family Photographs’ covering the period 1840 to 1950 plus holding individual photo dating sessions in the afternoon.
Check out more details at the Essex Society for Family History website here.
Our photo shows the grave of Cassello Chilcott, a member of the East Anglian Romany Chilcott family, who was buried in the churchyard of Coggeshall, Essex, in 1842.
