RTFHS “On the Road” Get-together: Live Event

You’re warmly invited to come along to the Town Hall in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, on Saturday 11 October 2025 for the RTFHS “On the Road” Get-together.
This is an informal drop-in event that’s free and everyone’s welcome, RTFHS members and non-members alike. It’s your opportunity to meet others with an interest in the family history, culture and heritage of Romany, Traveller, Fairground and Circus people not only in Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties but everywhere across Britain. And there’ll be lots to see and do – such as:
• A talk at 2.00pm by RTFHS member and author Anne-Marie Ford about the Gypsies of the Chilterns
• Displays, photos and information about Travelling people, both local and nationwide
• Local history information from the Chesham Museum team
• RTFHS family history research helpdesk and bookstall
• A team from the Buckinghamshire Family History Society
• Traditional fairground games – Roll the penny and more!

• Share stories and info about your Travelling ancestors and perhaps discover new cousins
The venue is fully accessible. There’s free parking for Blue Badge holders on site. And Chesham Underground Station on the Metropolitan Line is an easy walk away
