There’s a meeting on Sunday 1 October 2017 at Eastwood, Essex, for everyone who’s interested in the many Gypsy families who used to live on the Bohemia Estate, the Grosvenor Estate and the Ann Boleyn Estate.

The meeting is at the Church Hall in Eastwood from 12 noon until 5.00pm. You’ll find it in Eastwoodbury Lane, Eastwood. Southend on Sea, Essex SS2 6UH. There’s parking available at the church itself which is about 5 minutes’ walk away from the Hall.

There will be photos, certificates, newspaper cuttings, documents and maps on show plus the chance to meet other descendants of local Romany families. Light refreshments will be available. There’s a £1.50 entry fee.

And also take the opportunity to explore the churchyard itself where you’ll find many fine monuments to the people of the area’s Gypsy community.
