The National Archives have just announced that they are offering researchers free access to some digitised documents while their base in Kew, London, is closed to the public because of the national lockdown.
The records available that are likely to be of most interest to family historians include:
First and Second World World War records, including Medal Index cardsMilitary War DiariesRoyal Navy recordsMerchant Navy records
Royal Marine service records
